LOCAL BREWERY ENCOURAGES PATRONS TO RAISE MORE THAN JUST THEIR GLASSES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

Angel City Brewery™ Collects Donations for Midnight Mission

Los Angeles, CA (December 10, 2012) – Angel City Brewery, Downtown Los Angeles’s only craft brewery, is partnering with the city’s Midnight Mission to collect donations that will greatly support the organization’s intention to “offer a bridge to self-sufficiency for homeless people through counseling, education, training and job placement.”

When those donated holiday turkeys have been eaten and toys unwrapped, there is still the hard work of getting people permanently back on their feet. To this end, Angel City Brewery is collecting a selection of gently worn men’s attire. Midnight Mission is specifically in need of:

•             Suits (pants and jackets)

•             Collared, button down shirts

•             Ties

•             Sneakers (especially larger sizes)

•             Dress shoes (especially larger sizes)

Although the immediate need is for men’s clothing, Angel City Brewery will also be accepting non-perishable food items.

Everyone who makes a donation of clothing or a minimum of five non-perishable food items will get a special thank you from the brewery – an Angel City Brewery pint glass and a sneak peak into the as-yet-under-renovation brewery itselfDonations are being accepted at the brewery at the side entrance Friday, December 14, from 12pm – 6pm, and Monday, December 17 through Friday, December 21 from 12pm-6pm.

As part of its mission Angel City has not only spent this past year renovating the brewery and brewing world class beer, but it has also made strides to become a grass roots community member. During its first summer, Angel City has participated in dozens of charitable events and identified a roster of philanthropic partners. From Bloomfest LA to its participation in AIDS Walk LA, Angel City believes in the symbiotic relationship between a business and its community.

Angel City Brewery has been quietly brewing (its first two official beers – Eureka! Wit and Angeleno IPA) and building (the brewery, a tasting bar, a tour facility and retail center.) Now, with those two brews being tapped all over Downtown, Angel City’s next big goal is getting the brewery open to the public. When it fully opens, Angel City will feature a bar with at least 8 taps – including a variety of ongoing experimental creations. Plans include brewery tours and tastings and the sale of growlers on site, along with Angel City merchandise.
