We wanted to give a follow up shout out to Spring Street Smoke House’s Beer paragon Jason Allen Kruger for a job well done at Springfest 2012. Situated right on the outskirts of Chinatown, the event showcased local artists, live bands, BBQ & Thai food specials, and of course the Beer Garden! Bootleggers, Golden Road, and Stone were serving, and I had a chance to talk shop with GRB’s Marketing Guru Skip Shelly who’s been up to his eyeballs in events – he even shaved that cool beard of his!
The Springfest turnout was great and picked up considerably as CicLAvia wound down. The block party was conveniently located right next to one of the many cordoned off arms of the bike zone. Hungry and Thirsty bikers flocked by the groupfuls to get their hands on beer and nosh. We will definitely be looking forward to the next event that Jason puts together. He alluded to a Fall Fest 2012 when we last spoke. Can’t Wait!
Next topic, Beer Dinners: Jason has been hard at work planning his beer dinners for the year. The next one up, number 2 of 4, is on May 15 and will feature Stone as well as Smoke House’s signature BBQ. The focus will be on the maltier side of Stone’s offerings so definitely get your tickets. They’re $35 bucks and going fast. Seating is limited so make sure you call soon. If you make it out say hello–we will definitely be there. If it’s anything like the last dinner with Lagunitas, you really won’t want to miss it.

P.S. Special Congratulations to Jason for his recent promotion to General Manager of Spring Street Smoke House & BBQ. “Don’t worry, I’ll still be in charge of the beer,” said Jason.
